The Sam DeRose Jr. single “Sarah” spent eighteen weeks on commercial radio charts, reaching #3 on the Top40 Indie Charts, #13 on the Top40 Charts, #24 at Hot100 and #41 on the Mediabase Top40 Activator Chart. During its first week of radio airplay, “Sarah” became the #1 Added Song to Radio and went on to achieve #1 Spincrease status while being recognized as a Prime Mover nationwide.

Written and recorded by Sam DeRose Jr., “Sarah” was produced by DeRose alongside Gordon Davidson—whose credits include Kasabian, Stereophonics and Mick Jagger—at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, England.

The song was tracked and recorded inside Abbey Road’s world-famous Studio One before production continued in Studio Three within an all-analog environment. The sessions utilized Studio Three’s 64-channel custom classic SSL G+ console while also incorporating the working EMI TG12345 desk, bringing together two celebrated pieces of recording history within the production.

“Sarah” was subsequently mastered through a pure analog signal path by world-renowned mastering engineer Andy VanDette, whose credits include David Bowie, Rush and Deep Purple, at Engine Room in Manhattan, New York.

The “Sarah” Official Music Video was written and directed by Drew Raison, Executive Director of EMEAP—the Electronic Music Education and Preservation Project. The video features model Kaia on guitar, represented by Hannah Noelle Models in New York City, alongside Madison Mills performing on drums courtesy of Wilhelmina Models in Miami, Florida.

“Sarah” also attracted significant music-media attention, receiving reviews in Billboard, Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. In January 2025, NME’s Tassia Assis awarded the single a four-and-one-half-star rating.

Bass Musician Magazine editor Raul Amador also featured Sam DeRose Jr., highlighting one of the defining characteristics of DeRose’s approach to contemporary Pop music: placing a fully developed melodic electric-bass solo inside a three-and-a-half-minute charting Pop song—an accomplishment rarely heard within the format.

Whether performing across the United States, Europe or beyond, DeRose brings years of live experience to the stage, combining musicianship, production-minded detail and the commanding presence of electric bass as both a foundational and lead instrument.

In support of “Sarah,” DeRose’s promotional plans included live late-night television performances, selected supporting concert appearances and a European Festival Tour scheduled for the summer of 2025.
